San Fran

When we returned from England we promised we would travel all over the bay, but somehow it has been a year and we didnt even make it up San Francisco with the kids. We decide to take a Saturday and fix that. The weather is generally perfect in late summer/early fall and it was beautiful.

We knew the girls would like the train so we drove up to San Bruno and jumped onto Bart.

When we asked them later that day what was their favorite part, they answered it was the train.

We took a walk down to Pier 39, I had visions of strolling down the shops...but then there was reality where letting two toddlers roam in multiple store of breakables isnt the best idea. We walked past the shops and let the girls run around the end of the pier, they had a great time looking out at the water.

We grabbed lunch at Boudin and headed over the the park in front of Ghirardelli Square and had a picnic.

Hadley has been wanting to fly a kite for ages (I think we can thank Curious George) and we bought a little one for her awhile ago but havent had much wind. Jamie thought ahead and brought it up to the city.

She was seriously overjoyed and it flew shockingly well for a 3 dollar kite.

She talked about it for days.

We then headed up to check out Ghirardelli and get the girls some ice cream. We couldnt fit the stroller in the chocolate shop part (and honestly letting Hadley loose in a candy shop isnt the best idea) so we went straight to the ice cream!

Both of our crazy girls turned their noses up at the ice cream - Elise didnt really want to try it and Hadley was bummed that it was in a kids sugar cone (it is how she eats them at home). It just meant more for us!!

We then walked back to the train and headed home. There are so many things to do in the city we will need to go again soon!
