Grammy and Papa Come to Visit

Even though we spent 7 weeks with my parents this summer, they were out here the middle of July! My uncle turned 70 and they came out for his birthday party and stayed an extra few days to play with us. It was so nice to have them! We had just moved days before so we greeted them boxes and exhausted smiles, they were good sports and it was nice to take a break from unboxing. Although my dad made sure to spray for spiders in the backyard and fix a few broken chairs! If we could have found the shears I am fairly certain he would have pruned my entire yard!

The first thing they did was head to the toy store. They claim they didnt get anything for Hadley bc we were in England for her birthday, but I am pretty sure they bought out the entire store! The big purchase was this little pink trike.

She loved it! One of the reasons they purchased this particular one is because there is a little bucket on the back for her to store things. While we visited in Austin they had a little bus that she used to store all her special treasures and they hoped she would use this one. It currently houses a handful of Goldfish and an assortment of bath toys.

My mom also got Elise her very own toy that she didnt have to share. I love this shot, she was SO excited!!

My dad only had a few days before he had to head back to Austin so we spent his first day playing around the house and in the yard and the next day we headed down to Gilroy Gardens - it is like a Disneyland designed for toddlers! Hadley loved the fish ride!

 And the car ride....

The snake ride... She even got Papa to ride with her!

She loved all the extra hands and attention!

And the fact that Papa bought her ice cream

It really is a gorgeous little park and we had so much fun!

 Elise just enjoyed the ride!

And was even able to ride her own horse, normally I dont have enough hands to hang onto Hadley and help her ride a horse, but with Papa there she felt like such a big girl.

The day Papa left, Hadley snagged another donut! We introduced them to Stans which is just around the corner from our place, it is a close second to VGs.

My mom was able to stay an extra week and it was wonderful! The girls loved having her around and she even whipped up a bedskirt and curtains for Elise's room and watched the girls while I unpacked! It was so helpful! I sobbed when both of my parents left, I swear it gets harder ever time, and on the way home Hadley cried and told me to "go back", "get gramma". California needs to be a lot closer to Texas. We will be in Texas for a wedding in November and are counting down the days!
