The next day we did a walking tour of Historic Paris. I received the Rick Steve's travel book from Lindsay Young before we left and it has been wonderful!! Rick Steve's had a free podcast that narrated the major sites that we took on our phones and listened to at the different stops.

Walking from the Metro to the Notre Dame

So beautiful and another wonderful day

I just cannot imagine the commitment to work on something for 200 years, and all volunteer work. I loved the carvings and gargoyles, we would love to see them up close if we come back.

Point Zero in Paris

We were there on a Sunday and there was a live Mass, beautiful music and Latin filled the area while we looked at the carvings and windows.

Back of the Notre Dame
On the other side of the river is Ile St Louis, we stopped at Berthillon and it was as delicious as everyone says. Even though it was freezing we had the cherry sorbet and the chocolate ice cream, I have no idea how they made the cherry taste like you were biting into a fresh cherry.
Also found a little french candy shop, the colors and displays were so beautiful

Hadley agrees
We stopped at a little hole in the wall bakery, it was by far one of my favorite stops. We had sandwiches and quiche and bought a few pastries to test out, all finished off with an Orangina.
We walked through the used book and print area (no idea why I dont have any pictures...) and ended at this outdoor plant market and on Sundays they have a live bird market. Birds were everywhere. We made some friends with white french chickens.

And thought about bringing the goose home for a pet
We stopped by Saint Chappelle but the line was extremely long so we thought we would try another day. We finished the tour at Pont Neuf, again no pictures, but it was in great condition for such a historic bridge. It was the perfect way to walk around Paris and see the town, we did a ton of walking but it was nice not just running from sight to sight but to actually see the area.
We headed back to the room and Hadley thought she would test our our treats. Since we were done earlier than expected we tried a little cafe we read about in the area, it was a bit of a disappointment. Our favorite meals ended up being all of the sandwiches we just found along the way for lunch.
